Need a Hint? Try These Tips First!

Getting stuck is part of the challenge! Before revealing the full solution, consider these common nonogram strategies:

  • Focus on Large Clues: Lines with big numbers often provide definite starting points.
  • Look for Full Lines: Can the sum of the clues plus the spaces between them fill the entire row or column?
  • Use ‘X’ Marks: Marking confirmed empty cells is just as important as filling squares. It helps eliminate possibilities in intersecting lines.
  • Overlap Logic: Consider the leftmost and rightmost possible positions for blocks of squares. Any cells that overlap in both scenarios *must* be filled.
  • Cross-Reference: After filling or marking cells in a row, immediately check how that impacts the columns passing through those cells (and vice-versa).
  • Take a Break: Sometimes, a fresh look after a few minutes away is all you need to spot the next logical step.

Solving puzzles should be an enjoyable experience. Use the hints and solutions as tools to help you learn and progress at your own pace. The real reward comes from applying logic and experiencing that “Aha!” moment.
